TRACKmaps Privacy Statement
Trackmaps (“we’ or “us” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. Our Privacy Statement explains how we collect, use and protect information about you in the scenarios that are described in section 2 below. By taking any of the actions listed within that section, you agree that we may collect and use your information in the ways described in this privacy policy.
1. Who we are.
TRACKmaps is the trading name of a Partnership. Our mailing address is PO Box 5259, Beckington, Frome, Somerset BA11 9DD. You can contact us by writing to this address or using the online contact form on the website.
2. What information we collect and why we collect it.
We will collect information from you if you:
- register to use our website; this will include your name, address, email address and telephone number. We may ask you to provide additional information about your interest in our products or your role in relation to the Railway Industry, on a voluntary basis;
- place an order for products or services on our website, whether registered or as a Guest; this will include your name (including business name), address and contact details (including telephone number and email address) for both billing and delivery;
- complete online forms (including contact requests);
- contact us offline, for example by telephone, email or post;
- visit or browse our website, this will include information about your website visit using cookies or similar technologies (as described in section 5 below).
3. What we use your information for.
We will use your personal information to provide any products that you have ordered and to send you invoices or, where relevant, delivery information. We may also contact you for feedback on your use of our products, services or our website.
We may use your personal data for internal purposes such as auditing, data analysis, and research to improve Trackmaps products, services, website, and customer communications.
We may also use your information to send notifications to you regarding the publication of any forthcoming products. We will only send out one communication by email or post on each occasion a new publication is due and only if you are (a) registered and (b) have opted in to receive such communications. You can change your mind at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the footer of any email you receive from us or by contacting us using the contact form.
4. Sharing your information
Except as outlined below, we do not disclose, sell or licence your personal information to any other person or party, whether for commercial purposes or other. Your information is not available to any other user of the website.
We share your information with third parties which supply services to us or which process information on our behalf. Specifically, these third parties manage our servers; provide the postcode look-up service; process credit and debit card information; pack and despatch your order; and deliver your order by post or courier. These third parties may have incidental access to your information, but we ensure that they have appropriate policies to keep your information secure and do not use it for their own purposes.
Your email address, if collected from you at registration under the opt-in, is also shared our third party email distribution service for the notifications described in section 3.
We will also disclose your information to Statutory bodies, such as HMRC in relation the VAT records, or if we are required to by law. We may disclose your information to enforcement authorities if they ask us to, or to a third party in the context of actual or threatened legal proceedings, provided we can do so without breaching data protection laws.
5. Cookies and Traffic Data
Cookies are small text files which are transferred from our website and stored on your computer’s hard drive. They are widely used in order to help websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide general usage information to the owners of the site.
There are different types of cookies. We use Session Cookies on our website to identify and track users and to remember what is in your shopping basket.
These session cookies are deleted when you close your browser or leave your session. We use Persistent Cookies to enable our website to “remember who you are” and retain items in your basket to be available on your return. Persistent cookies will stay on your computer or device after you close your browser or leave your session.
We keep a record of traffic data; page hits and page views which are logged automatically by our server, which includes your Internet Protocol (IP) address, we are not able to identify any individual from traffic data or site statistics. We also collect shopping basket items, shipping, and delivery addresses.
We do not use any third -party cookies, such as Google Analytics.

If we hold any information about you which is incorrect or if there are any changes to your details, you can make these changes through My Account on the website. Under the legislation, you have a right ‘to be forgotten’ . If you wish to exercise this right, you should make the request in writing to the mailing address above and we will respond within the statutory time period.
